Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was a French mathematician, physicist, and philosopher. Pascal wrote significant treatises on the subject of projective geometry and on the arithmetic of triangles. He is known for Pascal's triangle, a geometric arrangement of the binomial coefficients in a triangle.
