Using Interlibrary Loan and WorldCat

When you are doing research you may find that the library does not have the book or article you need.  This is the time to turn to Interlibrary Loan.  Log in with your MyBama user name and password.  If you do not have an account you will be prompted to create one.  If you have an account, click on "Loan" in the left-hand menu if you want a book; click on "Copy" for an article.  Then fill out the form.  To do that, it is a good idea to look up the book or journal title in WorldCat.  Use the information in WorldCat to fill out your request form completely.  You should receive a copy of an article in your email in 24-48 hours, and in most cases you will receive a book in about a week.  You will receive an email when the book is available for check-out at the second-floor circulation desk in Gorgas.
