- Ask a LibrarianAsk a Librarian is an electronic reference service that provides instant answers to many frequently asked questions. You can also submit your own question; reference librarians actively monitor the service, and you can expect to receive a response within 24 hours (often sooner). It is one of several ways to contact the UA Libraries.
- Course ReservesCourse reserves are materials selected by faculty for use in a specific course. Need help accessing course reserves? Please see Ask a Librarian: How do I find reserve items for my class?.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL)Interlibrary loan, or "ILL," is a service that enables you to access books and articles not held in UA libraries. Distance Ed students can also use ILL to request that books held by UA Libraries be sent to them by mail. This page contains ILL contact information and links to policies, FAQs, and more.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Request FormFirst-time users must create an account. Make sure to specify that you are a Distance Ed student.

This will prevent you from having to log in every time you want to use a database, retrieve an article, etc., and after the initial setup, it makes doing research from off-campus much easier and faster. Students abroad will need to set up a VPN connection to use library resources. Contact 205-348-HELP for assistance.
