Creek Indian War (1813-1814)

Jesse Griffin letter MSS.0597 -- Jessie Griffin was a settler living near Fort Mims in south Alabama during the Creek War. He fled the area and survived the Creek attack on Fort Mims, which took place on August 30, 1813. Link goes to finding aid and digitized item online.

Columbus C. Dodson letter MSS.0440 -- A letter dated 15 February 1848, written from Mexico City to his sister, Miss A. W. Dodson, Telaga Spring, Chatooga County, Georgia.

Josiah and Amelia Gorgas family papers MSS.0580 -- Josiah served in the Mexican-American war; see the series Early Diaries for a travelogue

Luther Fairfax Dashiell papers MSS.0396 -- Correspondence, speeches, and writings, relating to his work as a surgeon with the 1st Regiment of Louisiana Volunteers, stationed in Tampico, Mexico, during the Mexican War.

Spanish-American War (1898)

Clara Gray letters MSS.1766 -- Two letters from James B. Hebden, and one from D. W. Gray, Spanish American War soldiers, to Clara M. J. Gray of Louisville, Kentucky, 6 August, 20 August, and 1 November 1898. That of 20 August 1898 enclosed a deck of playing cards.

C. A. Koop letter MSS.2101 -- This is a letter from C.A. Koop, a Spanish American soldier, to his sister. He writes that the camp training keeps him busy, asks about various friends and relatives, and wonders why his father has not written to him yet.

Louis Marsalis Letter MSS.2089 -- This is a letter from Louis Marsalis, a soldier during the Spanish American War, to his sister. He writes about life at his Army camp, thanks her for the box she sent, and hopes she is doing well.

U. S. Air Force Oral History Interview, Major General James B. Tipton, July 15, 1985 -- Tipton served in the Korea War, in addition to WWII. Link goes to digitized item; only available digitally.

Wade Hall Korean War photographs, 2011.003 -- This collection consists of eighteen photographs (two color photographs and sixteen black and white) depicting scenes from urban, every day life in South Korea during the 1950s Korean War. Some photographs depict American soldiers.
