Finding Journals in the Libraries' Catalog

The library subscribes to many theatre journals. Important journals for theatre history include the following:
     American Drama
     American Theatre
     New Theatre Quarterly
     Theatre Journal
     Theatre Record
     Theatre Research International
     Theatre Survey

To find a journal in the Libraries' Catalog, go to Basic Search, type in the title, and choose "Journal Title" from the drop-down menu at the right.

Finding Articles in Library Databases

To search a large number of journals to find articles on a particular topic, use one of the libraries' databases.  Go to the databases page and choose "Theatre and Dance" from the subject drop-box to browse the different options.  A search in one of these databases will usually retrieve a number of articles from several different journals.  Often, you will be able to read or print the full text of an article.  Occasionally, you may find a citation for an article, which you can then use to locate the article in a journal or in a book.  Useful databases for theatre and dance include:
