Finding Art Books at UA Libraries

The Art books all have a call number that begins with an N, and are located on the 3rd floor of Gorgas Library. When you exit the elevator on the 3rd floor, take a left and go down the stairs, and then turn left and go straight. You will see the room that houses the N's.

Libraries' Catalog:   Select "Advanced Search" for the most effective searches. You can search an artist's name, or a genre as a keyword search. When you find a resource that suits you, write down the call number (looks like this NC248.P5 F413 1969a as an example) and take it to the 3rd floor. Find the shelf range alphabetically that includes the first part of the call number (NC in this case), and then follow the rest of the call number alpha-numerically to locate a book on the shelf. If you need assistance ask at one of our service desks on the first or second floor of Gorgas.

Scoutsearches for books as well as articles and other materials.   Once you search an artist's name or genre, you can limit for Print Books on the left hand side of the page. Get the call number and follow the same procedure listed above.
