MUS 527: Beethoven

A digital archive containing facsimiles of music manuscripts, written texts, pictures, and other objects surrounding Beethoven’s life and works.

The website for San José State University’s Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies. Features an extensive library and museum surrounding the life, works, and achievements of Beethoven.

The immense digital library of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek; thousands of digitized scores, including the Chrysander edition of the Händel complete works, the Rietz edition of the Mendelssohn complete works, and hundreds of scores by Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert, and others.

Rare or unique scores and libretti from the collections of the Loeb Music Library, including first and early editions and manuscript copies of music from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Highlights of the collection include: scores by J.S. Bach and Bach family members, Mozart, Schubert and others; multiple versions of nineteenth century opera scores; seminal works of musical modernism; and music of the Second Viennese School. Contains 689 items (as of 6/2013).
