Then select DealsOn the left under 'Refine Deals' you can choose from three categories: General - Enter parameters such as announcement date, deal value, industry, status (ex: I want to see all deals that were announced from June 1, 2024 to June 15, 2024 in the Automotive industry) Deals Type - Search for items like true mergers vs. minority stake purchases, public vs private companies, payment method and deal value multiples (ex: I want to see 100% acquisitions of private companies using stock as the consideration offered) Company - Look for individual companies or those that meet certain parameters like domicile, net income, employees (ex: I want to see all deals where Alphabet Inc was the acquiror and the target had more than 10 employees)Your results will appear as a dashboard and enable you to click through to get specific about the transaction.

Additionally you can use the Factiva system to only choose articles with M&A stories by choosing the following categories: Subject>Corporate/Industrial News>Corporate Actions>Ownership Changes>Acquisitions/Mergers/Takeovers
Bloomberg Terminal (only available in the Bruno Library OR the Bashinshy Lab)
- Log into Bloomberg using the username and password on keyboard
- Type MA
- Use advanced search to enter parameters such as target company, acquiring company, date range, consideration offered, status, deal values etc.
EDGAR
Click advanced search and enter "Agreement and Plan of Merger" (with quotes) in the search box. If you are looking for a specific transaction, you can also enter the name of the target or acquiror in the Company box.
Relevant document types for U.S. deals will include: 8-K's for deal announcements; DEFM 14A, S-4 and 424B3 for merger proxies; SC14D9 for tender offers. For the Merger Agreement, look in EX 2.1 of the 8-K at announcement or Annex A of the subsequent proxies
