Software for Assessment Work

  • Tableau software can be used to produce data visualizations. The tableau website provides free training videos on using the software.
  • Excel is useful for data manipulation and visualization. Faculty, staff, and students at UA have access to Excel through the Microsoft Office package. EdX provides video tutorials on using Excel for data analysis.
  • NVivo helps with qualitative data coding. It is available free to faculty, staff, and students. Watch a video tutorial to get acquainted with the lastest version of NVivo.
  • SPSS is used for statistical analysis of data. UA faculty have access to both SPSS and SAS. Get an introduction to SPSS in this video tutorial. The library's subscription to Sage Research Methods Video Collection also offers a set of videos on how to run a variety of statistical tests in SPSS.
  • Qualtrics can be used to administer and analyze surveys. Faculty, staff, and students have access to Qualtrics. Watch one of Qualtrics' training videos to familiarize yourself with using the product.
