NVivo
NVivo is a data analysis software that supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It helps organize, analyze, and find insights in unstructured data. You can code documents, audio files, videos, images, surveys, spreadsheets and database tables, literature reviews and bibliographies, web pages, social media content, and more. NVivo allows users to work with large amounts of data and supports a wide range of research methodologies.
How to Obtain NVivo
- Download NVivo from OITNVivo is available at no cost to UA students, faculty and staff.
Mac or Windows?
NVivo on Windows and Mac are separate software applications with different project file formats. This guide provides resources to support your NVivo projects whether you are using a Mac or Windows. Visit each tab for more specific information.

- NCaptureNCapture is a free web-browser extension for Chrome that enables you to gather web content to import into NVivo.
- Social Media DataYou can import social media content from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube that you have collected with NCapture.
