Yes you can! But streaming videos are often available through package purchases and come bundled when the Libraries buy them. If the title isn't in a bundle then it can be hard to purchase or get access. Also, rare, older, and foreign films may not be available via streaming. Contact your liaison to see if there is a way to access the title that you want.
The University of Alabama Libraries has many streaming videos available to students, faculty, and staff through our web site. Streaming videos are accessible through databases and are available 24/7. All disciplines are represented in our streaming video collections. All of our collections are available on mobile devices as well as desktop or laptop computers.
Content that is delivered over a network in real time. Users do not have to (and often don’t have the option to) download the file before accessing it.
Some titles will be available on DVD but not through streaming. DVDs do not have the same licensing agreement as streaming videos, but the library can try to help you acquire the correct rights for your needs. Contact Michael Arthur (email@example.com) if you want to show a film in your class or sponsor a free public viewing on campus.
