Zotero

This guide curates information and tutorials on using Zotero to manage your sources and includes information on using Zotero with University of Alabama Libraries tools.

Getting Started With Zotero

Zotero is a free, open source citation management tool that integrates with your browser and easily pulls in information from databases, library catalogs, and websites. This online workshop, led by University of Alabama librarians Gabe Mansfield and Gabrielle Passick, will help you learn how to set up Zotero including adding items, organizing your library, and creating a bibliography.

Downloading Zotero

Visit zotero.org to download. Zotero is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Be sure to download the Zotero connector for your browser using the same link. If you are a current Zotero user, please make sure your software is up to date as there has been a major redesign of Zotero as of fall 2024 (Zotero 7).
