Question Mark (?) 

  • This is useful when there are spelling variations for a word, and you want to search for all variations at once.  

Behavio?r = Behavior and Behaviour 

Bei? Din= Beit Din and Beis Din

(Rabbinic court involved in matters of Jewish law, including conversion and traditional divorce procedures.)

Asterisk (*) 

  • Truncation is useful when you want to search for variable endings of a root word.
  • Educat* = Educate, education, educator, educating, etc.

Quotation Marks 

  • Use quotation marks to search for exact phrases and names of people.
  • "Biblical law”  
  • "Shmuel of Nehardea"
