Library Instruction Program - UA Libraries

Overview

The University Libraries Instruction Program empowers students to develop information literacy skills and research practices that transfer across disciplines, courses, and contexts. Pedagogical practices such as active learning, universal design for learning, and reflection inform our teaching and help us create engaging learning environments for our students.

Librarians at UA Libraries provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate students as well as programs across campus. These sessions can take place in-person and online. Librarians also partner with faculty to design research assignments that integrate information literacy into course curriculum.

Schedule Library Instruction

Library Instruction Across the Disciplines

Liaison librarians work with departments across campus and provide instruction that aligns with disciplinary research practices. They also partner with faculty to integrate information literacy concepts and skills into course curriculum, activities, and assignments to support the larger learning outcomes of the course and discipline.

Research Data Services Instruction

Research Data Services at UA Libraries is focused on providing support to students and faculty who have an interest, or are already engaged, in data-intensive research. Librarians are available to provide RDS instruction for all skill levels and can help faculty develop assignments, activities, and curriculum that incorporate a variety of RDS topics, skills, and tools.

In addition to classroom instruction, RDS campus-wide workshops take place throughout the year. Visit the RDS link below for more information about RDS at UA Libraries and upcoming workshops. Contact Dr. Kevin Walker, Director of Branch Libraries & Research Data Services with any RDS questions.

First Year Writing Library Instruction
