Resources to help you use Mendeley Reference Manager software.

Creating An Account

1. This will be the screen that you are prompted with when you go to https://www.mendeley.com

2. Click on the red "Create a free account" in the middle of the page.

3. Next, click on "Sign in via your institution" to proceed. No need to put your email in yet.

4. Next, search for "The University of Alabama." Click on the one shown in the drop down box "University of Alabama, The (The University of Alabama). Then click "Continue."

5. Once you click "Continue" from the previous box, you will be prompted with this box, asking you to sign in or register or to continue anonymously. This is not necessarily tied to your University of Alabama account, but I would recommend registering for an account.

6. After making an Elsevier account (or signing in with an existing account), this will be the screen you are redirected to and where you can choose a few different options, one of which is clicking the "Download Mendeley Reference Manager" button.

6a. The other options, shown above, are on the same page as before, but in the upper right corner of the screen. By clicking "Library," it will take you to the online reference manager, where you can see citations that you have saved. Clicking on the profile page, will take you to your profile, settings, etc.

7. If you clicked on the "Download Mendeley Reference Manager" button, this is the page that it will take you to. The prompts for this installation are self-explanatory, beyond selecting which operating system you would like to install Mendeley Reference Manager on.
