- Scout is the University of Alabama Libraries' discovery tool. Scout simultaneously searches the library catalog, databases of scholarly work, electronic collections, images, streaming media, and much more.

Databases
- Scout is best for preliminary searching. Sometimes, you need more subject-specific material. UA Libraries have databases in every subject. A Database is an online tool or collection of works that have been published. The A-Z Database page can be searched by subject, type, and title.
