Interlibrary Loan Tutorial

Interlibrary Loan

Did you know that you can find and order books or articles from other libraries and have them mailed to UA for free?

Use Interlibrary Loan(ILL) to order books and articles that are not available at UA.

To search for books in other libraries:

1. When you find a book you like, you're ready to order it through Interlibrary Loan.  Please go to https://ua.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/ and type in your mybama ID and password.

2. Login with your mybama ID and password.

3.  If this is your first time using Interlibrary Loan, you will come to a personal information form.  You will only have to fill out this form the first time that you use Interlibrary Loan.

4.  After you fill out the form, you will come to another page that has options on the left sidebar for “Copy” (used for articles) or “Loan” (used for books).  Please click on one of those links and fill out the form.  You are only required to complete the boxes with red stars.

The Library will email you when the books arrive, and hold them for you to check out at the Circulation Desk on the second floor of Gorgas Library.
