Department of Energy (DOE) & Office of Science
The Department of Energy is a little stricter than other agencies on their data sharing policies and submitting DMPs. (This is likely due to the national security risk of some projects.) If a proposal's DMP does not follow their requirements, it will not be funded.
There are three main sets of requirements depending on your grant program:
- DOE general grants
- Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE) grants
- Office of Science grants

For grants under the Office of Science, each sub-program also has additional data management requirements or exceptions. (Changes include special considerations for open-source software, use/reuse licenses, and sharing timelines for protected data.)
