UA LibGuides Author Guide: Statistics

Who can view statistics?

Librarian account holders can view statistics on guides they own, co-own, and edit. Administrators can view statistics for all guides, groups, and system pages.

There are 3 ways to view statistics:

• From the Dashboard:

Use These Box Types

In order to make full use of the Link Checker and statistics functions, guide authors are especially encouraged to use these box types when possible:

• Simple Web Links
• Links & Lists
• Books from the Catalog
• Documents & Files
• RSS Feeds
• Podcast Feeds
• Dates & Events
• User Link Submission
• Interactive Poll

Anytime a link is clicked in these box types, it will show up in the statistic report for that guide.

Log In to Preview

The system doesn't count hits when you're logged on and working on a guide or when you load a page in Preview mode.

Google Analytics captures information that isn't part of the standard LibGuides statistics:

• Sources of traffic to your guides
• Your guide visitors' geographic location
• Average time on your guides
• New/repeat visits to your guides
• Use of your guides by device, browser, and more
