LibGuides Content

What the Guidelines & Best Practices Say

LibGuides contain academic content. All other information will reside on the website as a webpage, site section, blog or something similar. A LibGuide may not duplicate existing website content.

a. Subject Guides: A LibGuides Subject guide may be created within LibGuides if there is a corresponding subject area taught at the university and/or the subject area is recognized as being part of an academic department at the University of Alabama.  All subject liaisons are expected to create subject guides for their assigned departments.

b. Course Guides: A LibGuides Course guide may be created and accepted for inclusion into LibGuides if the content/guide is directly connected to or supportive of a specific class taught at the University of Alabama.

c. Other Guides: LibGuides with other academic content, such as guides to citations or dissertation research, may be created with the approval of the LibGuides Administrator, in consultation with the Web Services Department.
